Once you have made it past the initial question of a minimum salary threshold, it's time to be prepared to defend what you are worth with a number you can live with. Remember: Once you are made a job offer, the time to negotiate is not only at hand, but expected. A reputable company does NOT back-tread on employment offers because you contend for a better offer. I have worked in HR for two years (in talent acquisition) and have taken management classes so there was so overlap of knowledge already, but I would not have passed without this series! It goes very deep into the material and covers pretty much everything you will be asked on the exam. I also bought a study guide from Amazon, but that was it for prep material. This is great for general knowledge as well. I've bookmarked this series for future reference. THANK YOU!!!

Is there a nation-wide or industry-wide blacklist for some occupations? Maybe not, but blacklisting was confirmed for me (accidentally) by an employee in the tech department who unknowingly read a note in my (digital) file stating an email I sent documenting an administrator’s wrongdoings lead to my inability to find a job. Even with this, however, associated fines would total less than $1,000 and no lawyer was willing to take the case because - they admitted - there was no money in it for them. Blacklisting is real.

My employer had a reorg which resulted in me having a new Director who did away with my position, placed me in a new position & now realizes I am not qualified for it & they are asking me to resign. I suggested we amicably part with them writing a termination letter stating they will not dispute my unemployment benefits and I was not at fault. They tip toed around it stating they would write a letter but not claim they are terminating me but it’s a mutual agreement & promised not to dispute but don’t think they’ll actually put it in writing. Your video was one of the best I’ve seen. Thank you!

I was working as a caregiver for people with developmental disabilities from 2019 to 2021. One night I became entangled in legal troubles.. employer found out. Suspended and subsequently terminated. Shitty ordeal but I was told I could reapply and was encouraged to because administration knew I was one of their best workers and I think it was evident how much integrity I put into my work. So I waited and reapplied, HR who encouraged me to reapply and was very helpful got me back into my position however there was a new supervisor who from our first meeting seemed to look down her nose at me to begin with. Despite getting a certain vibe from her I was still professional and polite. After running my background initially and with the knowledge that criminal charges would appear on my record they rehired me. Worked for around a month when I was told they had to run the background a second time and after the second check I was called into the office and told they were obligated to terminate me. I was blacklisted and told it was the entire healthcare field I was barred from. I only recently discovered I was placed on the states no-hire list. Im honestly unsure of a lot of specific details, and I have no idea how to find out further but at this point I've been told that a friend of mine who was speaking with the HR rep casually told her that she didn't fight for me to keep my position because someone told her I reported her. I was 27, and working as a caregiver for almost 10 years at this point. Now im 29, haven't been able to find work since and my husband and I are expecting our first child. Haven't the first clue where to go from here because basically I was put on the no hire list because I have warrants for the legal troubles I mentioned earlier due to the fact I am unable to pay my fines as a result of not being able to find work. I know the new supervisor had some sort of prejudice against me but apparently she wanted to see me homeless starving to death because if not for the little family we have that's where I would've ended up.

I stole from a store in retaliation because I was being harassed by the managers who one made racist subtle comments and I felt the owner knew and didn't care. A hardworking long term employee said no one there was innocent so at the time I was not religious and I justified taking whatever I wanted because people there worked hard and so did I only to be oppressed and I needed my job. This man is wealthy he didn't press charges but I think he blacklisted me because every workplace I go I have issues with management they don't outright do anything it's more with my schedule and things of that sort. I offered to pay back what was taken and I apologized because I honestly never did anything like that before and he just ignored my statement. It figures someone who abuses their workers and has those types of managers I wouldn't expect mercy from them though I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't know all the ills going on but I think he does...

Mandatory drug testing at time of accident. Most if not all claims are denied by insurance. That's how they save the company money. HR I have found seems to act as a liason between the employees and employer. Typically once claim is reported or accident HR has one job fill out accident report and then WC paperwork. If the employee seeks help of workman's comp attorney all communications with the employer cease. Adjuster and attorney file paperwork one to deny and put claim off and the other to get what the employees rightfully deserve. So many horror stories of the broken systems.

Pretty sure a former director of a company that fired me apparently knows every company I’m trying to get hired with. She is no longer with the company I was let go from but the jobs I’ve applied to are local and those potential employers know her personally and I think they are calling her personally instead of the company we both worked for for my job reference and she’s telling them all sorts of lies just like her reasons for firing me. I’m disabled I need to supplement my income. She made up a bunch of stuff and called me in in my days off to scream at me. I turned her in for discrimination now she’s moved on to another company so I think the several companies I’ve applied at they know her it’s the same field and they just call her up instead of the company and she lied on me
